Sale of central mixed use building

Colston & Colston LLP are pleased to announce the sale of 86 Walcot Street to the tenant, Julian House. Allan Lloyd let the premises to Julian House back in 2010 as a charity shop with associated residential accommodation above. Julian House are a local charity and have secured their future in the building by purchasing the freehold. The charity use the residential portion of the building to house clients prior to their securing permanent lodgings, with the retail premises providing a shop for the charity to raise funds and also awareness

Julian House have the mission of creating , ‘a just society where socially excluded people are supported and empowered to build sustainable, independent lives.’

Colston & Colston sold the premises last year as part of a wider portfolio and Julian House flagged at that time that should it be possible for them to purchase their building out of the portfolio, that they would be interested in doing so. Consequently, we were pleased to arrange for the sale onto them. a satisfactory result for all concerned.

The building comprised a basement and ground floor retail unit with a 3 storey maisonette at upper floors overlooking the river the rear.
